Nesta scoops a medal haul

Evolution Martial Arts kickboxers Nesta Baxter and Archie Lenton have competed at the Czech Open - Nesta returning with three golds and a silver.

Competing at Prague’s Arena Sparta, the event began with the points fighting events.

Nesta began by fighting in the -55kg Older Cadet (13yrs-15yrs) category, where she is the reigning European Champion.

After beating Czech and Polish opposition, she met Hungarian Simonics Elizabett in the final.

An outstanding performance saw Nesta claim her first gold of the day.

Eight-year-old Archie Lenton - taking part in his first international competition - fought in the boys’ younger cadet (sevenyrs-12years) -32kg section.

Although Archie did not gain a medal in this event, he fought Hungarian Hammer Máté, who went on to win three sections.

In the Junior (16-18years) girls’ -55kg category, Nesta claimed silver.

She pushed Hungarian Marvai Livia all the way before being defeated by an extra-time golden point.

The light continuous and kick light events.

Nesta fought in two more sections and Archie in a further one.

Nesta stepped up to the ladies’ category in the light continuous -55kg, claiming a unanimous decision against Lisa Kossler of Austria, a multiple world and European medalist, in the semi-fianls.

In the final Nesta fought an Italian opponent, claiming gold with another unanimous decision.

Archie fought in the younger cadet (sevenyrs-12years) -32kg boys’ light continuous, missing out to Croatian Lukas Hudler in the quarters.

Nesta Baxter won her final gold in the light continuous older cadet (13-15years) girls’ -55kg section - defeating two Polish rivals in the semis and final.
