United in the Community will be running their Couch to 5k challenge once again.

Starting on Thursday, June 25, the team, based at Boston United, will aim to turn participants into runners accomplished enough to complete a 5k run within the space of eight weeks.

And there will also be additional support for those wishing to push themselves even further in the future.

“Our last Couch to 5k challenge was a great success, and it’s great because it is suitable for everyone regardless of their experience,” said sports development officer Imogen Dawson.

“The sessions are tailored to suit all levels of experience, and will involve training over eight weeks, including group-jogging sessions and individual runs.

“It’s a great way to get fit and healthy, help you lose weight and also train you to be able to run a marathon.”

United in the Community are encouraging more people to get active with the project, which is part of their Active Pilgrims scheme that offers free and low-cost sport sessions.

It will run in partnership with Boston United Football Club, The Football Conference Trust, Boston Borough Council and also Sport England.

Lincolnshire Sport and This Girl Can are also supporting the project for a second time.

Anyone over the age of 16 is welcome no matter what their running ability, with the eight-week challenge, costing just £10 with exit routes at the end of the programme if runners wish to carry on.
