Boston Golf Club’s Ruth Simpson and Yvonne Schaffarczyk won their first round match in the Daily Mail Foursomes.
Playing at home they defeated their Spalding opponents 4&3 and now wait to discover who their next opponents will be.
In the ladies’ section, eight teams of three played an Arizona shuffle in glorious sunshine.
With full handicap allowance, two team members counted on par fours, all three on par threes and just one on par fives.
The winners with 68 stableford points were Jean Markham, Kathy Stanley and Maureen Molson.
Ruth Simpson, Yvonne Shaffarczyk and Lynn Worthington were second on 63, with third place going to Lady Captain Kath Yates Ann Gullick and Pam Bett with 61.
On Thursday the Boston Ladies held their Spring Waltz AM-AM, with 16 teams of four playing from around the county.
The winning foursome with a fantastic score of 82 stableford points were the home team of P. Hyde, J. Markham, A. Hodgson and R. Simpson.
In second place with 79 points were A. Cordery, S. Pawson, J. Ross and A. Fray (Elton Furze) with third place going to Seacroft and Market Rasen’s C. Welfare, J. Emmerson, L. Emmerson and S. Mowbray on 78.
The fourth-placed team with 76 points. were H. Calvert, A. Wallhead, C. Ireland and J. Heyward from Boston, Woodhall Spa and Blankney.
