Boston Tennis Club’s Men’s team of Ray Frankish, John Gibson, Mike Burnett and James Newton played Eastgate in Division One of the Lincolnshire Senior Winter League.

After finishing as runners-up last year to Grimsby, equal on points but with a narrow disadvantage on rubber difference, the Boston men are determined to remain unbeaten this season.

This match helped the team in this quest as it was a 7-1 result in their favour.

Boston Ladies, also playing in Division One of this league, had a good win against Grantham.

The team of Linda Barrow, Sue Burnett, Jenny McGarel and Rachel Gedney won 8-0 in this away fixture.

Competing in the Lincolnshire Mini Tennis Indoor League, Boston green and orange teams have been in action.

Boston Orange C’s team of Emily Stukins and Jacob Felipes beat Horncastle 2-1.

Boston Green D’s Bethany Hayes and Freddie Robinson lost 1-2 to both Sleaford and Grantham.

Boston Green B – James Burrell and Will Shears - had a 3-0 win over Horncastle B.

In the Boston and District Winter League Boston A and Boston D locked horns.

Boston A’s Joe Parla, George Wookey, Matthew Cheer and Connall Newton couldn’t match the D’s Tom Cozens, Michal Chmielik, Simon Beardsley and David Dunlop, who recorded a conclusive 4-0 success.

The Boston Tennis Club Indoor Christmas and New Year Grade Four tournament begin on Saturday and is sure to provide some good matches.

Also on December 28 the annual over 35 Mixed Tournament, sponsored by Bombay Brasserie, will take place.
