Simpson finds the doubles

The Boston Friday Night Individual Darts League saw Mark Simpson take on Debra Royal in the Boston Snooker Centre Premiership.

In a close contest, Debra picked off a 16-darter and hit a 180, but Mark picked off the doubles better to win 4-2.

Chris Royal was steadier than opponent Pete Grooby and checked better to win 4-1.

A close battle saw Dave Holland come out on top against Kev Lenton, winning 4-2.

Chris Royal returned to take on Phil Odlin, Phil settling into a 2-0 lead.

But Chris fought back and checked when under pressure, including a 16-dart leg, to win 4-2.

In the Pizza Perfection Championship, Stan Smith picked of a vital 61 finish to help see off Rob Scrupps 3-1 in a close match.

Trev Day and Wally Almond had good tight game, but good finishing from Trev, including a 98 finish, saw him to a 3-0 victory.

Mick Flynn saw off brother-in-law Jimmy Birtwistle 3-1, while Harry Lee checked the better against Matt Grant to win by the same score.

Rowena Watson had a good night, hitting a 180 as she beat Paul Taylor 3-1 before pipping Trev Day 3-2.

Alison Royal took on Sammi Barsley in the All Sports Trophies & Engraving Division Two, Ali sealing the match 3-1.

Ali Bakerchecked well to beat Mark Baily 3-1, while Jake Lammymanfinished better against Shaun Denmead to succeed 3-0.

Emma Grant created chances against Phil Burman, but Phil checked well to win the match 3-1.

Aaron Upsall beat Bradley Butler, proving strong on his doubles.

Marcus Hales edged a close five-legger against Shaun Denmead.

In the C&C TV Division Three, Dennis Turner picked of a 180 on his way good 3-0 win over Jason Lammyman, in a contest which was closer than the score suggested.

Suzy Watson found her doubles to beat Muriel Almond 3-0, while Callum Day beat Brain Wilkinson and Liz Chapman got the better of young Adam Grant, both by the same score.
