The two draperRACING riders Aaron Clarke and Tommy Philp both brought points back to the team in their respective races at Snetterton.

Clarke, from Kirton, was up against it in his Superstock 600 race as he was starting from the 10th row in 28th place.

As his race got started, Clarke was steady away to let his tyres warm up on the first lap, but from lap two onwards he made up places nearly every lap.

In lap two he moved to 25th and then made up another two places and was 20th by lap five.

He then battled with fellow Lincolnshire rider Tim Neave, exchanging places with him on a couple of occasions before making the pass stick on the penultimate lap to move into 15th place and into the points.

Not content with that, he overtook Tom Oliver on the final lap to cross the finish line in a fantastic 14th place to pick up two championship points.

To make up 14 places during the race was a tremendous achievement and Clarke was delighted with his result.

He said: “That was a really good race for me and I equalled my personal best result from Oulton Park earlier in the season.

“We discovered that we had gone the wrong way with the settings in free practice and qualifying and we went for a soft setting.

“We changed it completely for the race to a hard setting and it proved to be the right way to go.

“The Yamaha was a completely different bike to ride and I have gone faster than ever before.

“Thanks to my team for their hard work and also to Paul Draper and all my sponsors for their continued support.”

Philp relished the wet conditions in qualifying for his British Supersport race and recorded his best-ever grid position of third, and a front row start to the nine-lap Sprint race on Saturday.

He finished 15th before crossing the line 17th in Sunday’s feature race.

The next round is at the Thruxton circuit, to be held on July 24.
