Boston Tennis Club’s Men’s Firsts are sitting pretty at the top of Division One in the Lincolnshire Senior League.

There have been some welcome wins for the club in this competition recently, as well as results that have been positively unwelcome.

In the first division, Boston Men’s Firsts are making convincing progress.

A result of 4-0 against Grantham put the team soundly at the top of the table.

The team on this occasion was Mike Burnett, Ray Frankish, James Newton and Anthony Hulley.

The Men’s Seconds - Andy Clamp, Gary Fitzjohn, Geoff Short and Anthony Hulley – also competing in the top divison, put up strong resistance against Louth but just missed out 3-5.

Boston Men’s Thirds – Phil Cosgriff, John Gibson, David Makins and Andy Clamp - drew 4-4 with Louth Seconds in a Division Two match.

Boston Ladies’s Firsts, playing in Division One, had a 3-1 win over North Scarle.

The team was Rachel Gedney, Linda Barrow, Jenny McGarel and Rachel Hawkesworth.

The Boston quartet of Jenny McGarel, Linda Barrow, Sue Burnett and Rachel Hawkesworth lost 1-7 to Louth.

Boston Ladies’s Seconds had a 1-3 loss at Woodhall in a Division Two match.

The team was Helen Duckett, Catherine Ellis, Claire Smith and Mary Smura.

Boston Ladies’s Fourths are steaming ahead in their division.

They recorded wins of 7-1 and 8-0 against Washingborough and Louth Thirds respectively for the team of Hilda Hastings, Jenny Murphy, Lesley Gibbons and Gill Bell.

The minis teams have also been busy.

There were wins for Boston Mini Tennis Green A’s Poppy Gibbons and Ben Rudkin over Eastgate and Grantham A.

The Boston Mini Red A team had a win over Boston Mini Red B and a draw with Deeping.

The Red B missed out to Eastgate.

Playing for the Red teams were Declan Dodes, Alayna Buswell, Jack May, Charlie Cook, Louis Clark, Lewis Patchett, Noah Holden and Natasha Dodes.
