Callum Johnson is the new Commonwealth Light Heavyweight Champion - after knocking out Willbeforce Shihepo.

The Boston brawler dished out just the second knockout of the Namibian’s 33-fight career in the ninth round.

A huge right hand had the Black Mamba staggering, before sealing the deal with a second telling blow to secure the vacant title.

The 31-year-old Johnson - who won Commonwealth Games gold at Delhi 2010 - has now won all 16 of his pro fights as well as his first belt.

But more importantly he has fulfilled his pledge to hid dad Paul, who passed away earlier this year.

After the shock death of his mentor, Johnson vowed to claim a title for him and complete the Commonwealth double in both the pro and amateur ranks, which they discussed.

“To all my family back home we’ve done the double now Dad - come on,” a jubilant Johnson told Sky Sports.
