A fantastic century from Sunil Panjwani set the foundation for a comfortable Freiston, Leake and Leverton victory at Lindum Thirds on Saturday.
He struck 110 runs in the South Lincs and Border League Division Two before he was finally dismissed by Harry Wells, but the damage was done as Freiston went on to earn a 92-run victory.
Panjwani and opening partner Richard Paul added a wonderful 160 for the first wicket.
He brought up his century with a huge six over square leg, before going on to make 110 off only 89 balls.
Paul made 36, and Zeeshan Saeed 31 before Stewart Kirtley finished the innings with a breezy 59 to leave Freiston on a superb 271-5.
In reply, Ollie Booth took two wickets with the new ball to all but end Lindum’s hopes of reaching the target.
Tommy Atkinson picked up three wickets, whilst Taimur Mian claimed two as Freiston’s bowlers were never really tested.
The impressive Booth claimed another scalp the give him three for the match, but Freiston were unable to claim the final Lindum wicket and therefore missed out on maximum bonus points, the home side ending on 179-9 from their 45 overs.
In the Cojos East Lindsey League Division One, Freiston were beaten by four wickets at home to Sutton on Sea on Sunday.
For the second week running, Freiston’s East Lindsey side came agonizingly close to victory, but the visitors reached their target off the penultimate delivery.
Freiston had made a competitive score of 163 from their 40 overs, with runs coming from Herbert Ushewokunze (34) and Sunil Panjwani (63).
However, Sutton on Sea posted 165-6, wickets being taken by Darren Tate, Graham Kirtley and Panjwani.
