Freiston, Leake and Leverton are going for glory as they contest the final of the South Lincolnshire & Border League Cup on Saturday.
They will face Baston at Bourne CC’s Abbey Lawn ground.
This is the first cup competition held by the league for several years, and was restricted to teams in Division One and Two.
Boston’s Dewhurst Trophies donated the new cup and there will be a trophy for the Man of the Match, to be selected by the umpires.
The final begins at 1pm and is 40 overs a side, with a maximum of 10 overs per bowler.
Spectators are welcome.
SLBL Division One
Grantham 3rds 17-8 v Freiston LL - match abandoned.
Freiston, Leake and Leverton secured the South Lincs and Border League Division One’s second promotion spot as rain meant no games reached a conclusion in the division on Saturday.
For the second week running the weather intervened when Freiston were well placed.
An inspired opening spell by Taimur Mian helped reduce visitors Grantham Thirds to 17-8.
Mian was in superb form claiming six wickets, five of which were clean bowled.
However, heavy rain meant the game had to be abandoned and, in truth, Freiston were fortunate to even get in the 14 overs they did.
