Boston Rugby Club saw their six-match unbeaten run come to a crashing end at Grimsby on Saturday.
They lost 34-5 to suffer their first defeat since November.
The game started well for the visitors when Jack Stokes broke clear to score in the opening minutes, but after that it was one-way traffic as Grimsby romped to a convincing win.
Boston failed to exert any pressure and conceded a huge number of penalties in contrast to a well-drilled and slick home side who dominated.
After going behind so early on, Grimsby hity back after six minutes when a converted try put them ahead.
After 12 minutes they doubled their advantage with another try and Boston’s misery continued when skipper Craig Dowse was yellow-carded before more scores from the home side resulted in a half-time score of 22-5.
The same pattern continued after the interval and Grimsby wrapped up the game with more scores rounded off with a picture try in the closing minutes with the ball passed from one side of the field to the other.
Boston once again had to shuffle the line-up due to players being unavailable.
