CALLUM Sutton will launch his bid for karting glory this weekend.
The 16-year-old will head off to Whilton Mill in Northamptonshire to contest round one of the Junior Max category of the British Kart Championships this weekend.
This will be the first of seven rounds this year.
Karting retains a large interest as it remains one of the best ways for drivers to force their way into the Formula One ranks.
Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton are just two examples of youngsters using karting to rise through the ranks.
Callum will be forced to get to grips with the Whilton Mill circuit quickly during Friday’s testing.
While many of his rivals have had the chance to test on the circuit already this year, during a club match, financial restraints have meant Callum hasn’t raced there since last year.
However, he is hoping to turn things around with his latest sponsorship offer.
For £50, fans, businesses or even members of the public can see their names added to the list of sponsors on the van that accompanies Callum at each race event.
And an additional £50 could also see your name emblazoned on his kart for one of the seven rounds.
The British championships are televised events - having previously been shown on Motors TV and Sky Sports - offering greater exposure for sponsors.
After Friday’s testing, race days will be held over the weekend.
