Youngsters are thinking kwik

PRIMARY School youngsters from across the area took part in the Boston and District School Sports Partnership Kwik Cricket Festival.

The boys’ event was split into three different groups of six.

Group A was won by Carlton Road A, with Tower Road second and Staniland A third.

Also in the group was Boston West, Hawthorn Tree and Sibsey.

St Thomas’ won Group B.

Carlton Road B came second, ahead of Old Leake, St Mary’s, Staniland B and Wyberton A.

Group C was a closely-fought affair, with Fishtoft and Stickney both finishing on eight points, but Fishtoft winning on run difference.

Frithville were third.

Also competing in Group C were Donington, New York and Wyberton B.

The girls’ event was organised by way of a round robin tournament.

Carlton Road made it a double as their girls also came out on top.

In second were Tower Road.

St Mary’s were third, with Carlton Road B fourth and Gosberton Primary in fifth.

The annual event is organised to introduce youngsters to the sport of cricket, by using smaller-sided games at a quicker tempo.
