Battle of Britain memorial service in Boston


The Boston Branch of the Royal Air Force Association will be holding an act of remembrance on the Battle of Britain Anniversary at The Memorial Garden, in Wide Bargate, at 11am on Monday.

Brian Crowley, chairman said: “It is so important that all of us, who live in freedom today, do not forget those who sacrificed their lives in the Battle of Britain to secure our future as a sovereign nation.

“This special service ensures that they truly will never be forgotten and we hope as many local people that can, will join us at The Obelisk for the Service followed by a Spitfire Flypast at 11.30am, from the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.”

There will also be an anniversary service held on Sunday, September 21, at 11.30am at St Botolph’s Church which will be followed by a parade to the Memorial Gardens, Wide Bargate and a RAF Spitfire flypast at 12.45pm.
