A TELEVISION debut awaits Boston estate agents this week.
John Chand, 33, a partner in the Boston office of estate agent Newton Fallowell, has been in the property industry for about ten years and was invited to take part in an episode of Channel 4 programme The Renovation Game.
The hour-long home makeover show gets a crack team of up-and-coming builders and designers put their own fees on the line if they fail to raise the value of a property.
The team is given £3,000 and three days to significantly increase the value of a dilapidated building.
Three separate estate agents give independent valuations of the property both before and after the makeover which are then averaged to give the final value.
Holbeach United manager Mr Chand said: “The builders are only paid if they manage to increase its value by £15,000.”
In Mr Chand’s episode an extra bedroom is added to a two-bedroom bungalow in Wrangle.
The valuations were filmed on November 5 and November 8.
Mr Chand said: “We weren’t told how the builders got on and I still don’t know the outcome.”
He added: “The show was initially given a four-week run but it’s been recommissioned.
“I’ve been watching it on Sky+ for the past few weeks and it’s a really good show.”
Chris Marshall, at Pygott and Crone, in Boston, one of the other two companies, also features in the episode, which airs at 10.55am on Thursday.
