Boston’s Christmas tree has been lit up tonight, along with the rest of the town.
Alisha Scowen, 12, of Old Leake pressed the button to switch on the lights on the town’s tree following a series of live performances including a choir of children from the Boston area.
Mayor of Boston Coun Alison Austin welcomed everyone to the event and thanked those who had helped organise it. Paul Gleeson then introduced Alisha.
Pescod Square also held their lights switch on soon after when Pepper Pig pressed the button with a group of local children.
Elsewhere in the town, Boston Stump opened late for visitors to view its new Light Waves installation, which will be on display every Thursday for the next few weeks.
