Crowds ‘overwhelmed’ a garden centre at the weekend to see the opening of a new Owl and Falconry Centre and visit the business’ summer event.
Johnson’s Garden Centre operations manager Craig Hobson said: “I think we were overwhelmed by the response from the public, the attendance was far higher than what we expected it to be over the two days.”
The event also included a variety of stalls, bouncy castles and a live show from Endeavour Radio.
“It was wave after wave of people,” added Craig.
“The overall impression of the whole day was that due to the work and effort that Olivia [Wise - event organiser] had put in the response had been tremendous.”
He said the Owl and Falconry Centre owner Shane Pearson had also been overwhelmed by the number of people who came through the doors and had found people ‘loved the whole experience’.
The birds will be on display at the new centre on Wainfleet Road, every day during the garden centre’s opening times and Shane and his family will be there to give advice and teach people about the creatures. There will also be a number of displays and flights held on Saturdays.
