A NEW theatre and dance festival for young children and featuring international performers will be kicking off in Spalding on Friday.
Jump In is part of the regional Cultural Olympiad this summer and will see more than 45 events taking place in the East Midlands during May and June.
It will start in Spalding with two award-winning companies coming to the South Holland Centre. The first Canadian company Bunk Puppets, will perform Swamp Juice on Friday, and the second, Kindur by TPO Company, will be performing an interactive show on June 8.
Sally Harrison, manager at the South Holland Centre, said: “We’re incredibly excited to welcome Bunk Puppets and TPO to South Holland. Thanks to the Jump In festival and collaboration across the East Midlands with other arts venues, South Holland has been able to secure these highly acclaimed, internationally recognised theatre and dance companies.”
The Jump In festival is a ‘first ever,’ pan-regional children’s festival featuring exciting, international touring artists with work specially created for children and their families.
Also, at the Lincoln Drill Hall, Spanish dance and theatre company Aracaladanza will perform Nubes (Clouds) on May 31 with and Bunk Puppets will also perform on June 8.
