An American folk duo will kick off Boston Folk Club’s autumn season at the Eagle Pub on Monday.
Hungrytown features lyricist, singer and guitarist Rebecca Hall and multi-instrumentalist Ken Anderson, both from Vermont.
Hall’s voice has been praised as having ‘a sweetness and a worldly wisdom in perfect balance’ by Roger McGuinn, co-founder of legendary folk-rock group The Byrds.
The duo, who have been touring America, Europe and New Zealand extensively for more than a decade, have recorded three highly-acclaimed albums – the latest, Further West, was released earlier this year.
Their original songs are influenced by traditional Americana, psychedelic folk and have tints of Nashville Gothic.
They will be showcasing their lyrical talents, harmonies and musicmanship at the pub, in West Street, from 8.15pm. Entry is free.
