Boston’s parish church is walking on air after successfully bidding to get famed Welsh singer Aled Jones to perform there later this year.
The singer will be performing at St Botolph’s Church, along with The St Botolph’s Singers and soloist Caroline Trutz, on September 28.
Director of development at the church Peter Coleman said: “This is a marvellous event for the church. We have been working on this for quite some time. It’s his only appearance in Lincolnshire this year so we are expecting him to bring people in from far and wide.
“We believe he will be a big attraction, as he is in the spotlight a lot with all his television and radio programmes. We felt it was something the church could put on and benefit everyone.”
Aled Jones rose to fame for his cover of Walking in the Air. Since then he has presented Songs of Praise on BBC 1, BBC Radio 2’s The Early Breakfast Show and has been a presenter of Daybreak on ITV Breakfast.
Tickets will cost £35 and £29.50, although a few £80 tickets will also be available for a meet and greet.
