A BBC award-winning singer-songwriter is hoping music fans will be ‘all aboard’ his solo tour All At Sea when it comes to Boston next week.
Described as ‘one of the biggest names in the British folk scene’ - Steve Knightley will entertain crowds at Blackfriars Theatre on March 4.
The frontman, acclaimed on BBC Radio 2’s Show of Hands, has been rated ‘one of England greatest singer songwriters’.
His song Walk With Me (When the Sun Goes Down) is on the new Show of Hands album, while single The Long Way Home (released January 15), was recently playlisted on BBC Radio 2.
Steve says he set out on a mission in 2014 - to play as many village halls and ‘untapped’ grass roots community venues in England as he could muster.
In 2016 he has decided to turn his attention to Maritime venues around the shoreline of England and Wales. The ‘All at Sea’ tour will find him playing in seaside halls, an Elizabethan Fort, on boats and in a rich variety of performing spaces all within sight of the waves and the tide.
As Steve says: “As a West country songwriter I have written so many songs of seafarers and wreckers, travellers and traders, pirates and smugglers. Now I’m going to be able to sing them with the sound of the sea in the distance - I can’t wait.”
The show takes place at the Spain Lane venue from 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £16.50 each. Disabled seating is available. Call the Blackfriars Theatre box office on 01205 363108.
