Young musicians from Boston are set to show off their musical skills at a glittering show in the Royal Albert Hall.
The Tree Army with Boston Youth Jazz Orchestra (BYJO) has been selected to perform at the Music for Youth Schools’ Prom on November 23.
This follows an ‘outstanding’ performance by the group at the National Festival of Music for Youth finals in Birmingham.
The Tree Army ensemble includes Hawthorn Tree Primary School’s year three samba and year six wind bands – together with BYJO.
They will perform Brass Machine by Mark Taylor, Valerie by the Zutons and Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson, specially arranged by BYJO.
Martin Lister, head teacher at Hawthorn Tree School, said: “Our children have been thrilled and inspired working alongside the jazz orchestra, which includes some of our talented former pupils.
“The forthcoming performance at the Royal Albert Hall will be our fourth joint performance and the culmination and celebration of a year’s hard work.
“It is an opportunity of a lifetime for our children, particularly so in representing Boston and the county at this prestigious venue.”
