A BOSTON area singer is taking on the challenge of performing tributes to pop stars Jessie J and Adele – at the same show.
The chart-topping singers have very different physical and musical styles – but this hasn’t put off Sam Sillett, from Wrangle, who is set to perform a dramatic backstage costume change to pull off the daring double act.
“I will get 20 minutes between acts so will have just enough time to change my costume, make-up and throw on a wig,” said Sam, 27.
“I’ve toured as a Britney Spears tribute act in the past which involved four quick costume changes – so this is actually a lot easier.”
Sam has been working as a professional singer for 10 years, travelling to gigs all over the country.
She now runs Boston showbusiness agency The Biz, helping to train and promote local talent.
Sam’s double tribute act will be performed in a set dedicated to ‘pop divas’ at The Villager, in Ingoldmells, on Friday, May 4.
Multi award-winning singer Adele is famous for her ballads including Someone Like You; while contemporary R’n’B star Jessie J scored a number one with Domino, and is currently one of the judges on BBC One talent show The Voice.
