The Pub Landlord aka Al Murray is back on the road with his new show ‘One Man, One Guvnor.’ The comedy legend found time to chat to The Standard ahead of his appearance in Skegness .
Are you looking forward to visiting Skegness?
“ This must be my fourth visit. I love the place. And I’ll be doing what I can when elected to ensure global warming raises the temperature of the UK by five degrees to bring much needed tourism back to our seaside towns.”
You are doing some dates in Europe. Is it surprising your British sense of humour is so popular on the continent?
“Not at all. We have the greatest sense of humour in the world. Who would argue with that? Often crowds abroad sit silent with their mouths open amazed that they have never heard anything so funny.”
You are standing to be MP for South Thanet. What needs to be done to get more people interested in politics?
“It’s simple really, folks need to vote. If you’re not on the darts team, you’ll never win a match.”
Finally do you have a message for the people of Skegness?
“I can’t wait to be amongst the greatest people in the world apart from the ones in my future constituency.”
