Baroque Theatre Company is putting on The Haunting of Hill House, the classic chiller by Shirley Jackson adapted for the stage by F. Andrew Leslie at Blackfriars Theatre, on Saturday.
Sinister and foreboding, Hill House has remained empty and silent until the arrival of Dr. Montague; an investigator of the supernatural phenomena, the new owner of the house; Lucy Sanders, a psychic; Theodora and the mysterious Eleanor Vance.
Together they delve into the morbid history of the house and to come to grips with the forces that have made it uninhabitable.
Their visit begins with jovial informality, but their sensibilities are soon jolted by strange and eerie occurrences.
As time moves on, the evil forces of Hill House are goaded to a new fatal fury.
Show starts at 7.30pm.
