Blackfriars Playgoers Society will be bringing stories of the First World War to Boston’s theatre on Wednesday, November 12, at 7.30pm.
The Accrington Pals is an original play by Peter Whelan, created in 1982. It is based on a unit during the conflict and contrasts its life at the front and experiences in the 1916 Battle of the Somme with the women left behind in Accrington.
The society are warning, however, that there is some strong language in the play. Tickets are £10 (£9 conc), with £1 from each ticket going to Help for Heroes.
